Style Tip: 2012 Swimsuits

You might have noticed that at eStyleChat we are always one of the first to post our holiday outfit ideas or seasonal favorites. Why? It’s because when you shop online, you need time to order and receive your items! And just on the off chance you don’t love it, you need time to send it back. So that’s why we post about Valentine’s Day a week early, show you our picks for Thanksgiving a few days in advance and cover fall wedding season wear in July and August.

So it’s only fitting that we would be talking swimwear in late February! We’ve been scoping out the cutest suits by some of our favorite brands and it already looks like an adorably classic year of bikinis, tankinis and one-pieces.

Here are some of our picks, but tell us in the comments what you’re looking for in a swimsuit or what brand of suit you LOVE year after year.

From White House Black Market, a new comer to the swim arena, a strapless top, leopard top and matching leopard bottoms. We’re excited to see more swim suits from a brand we already love!

One Piece Suits

We found two amazing one pieces that are different and fun. The first is a leopard print from ASOS, a frequent featured brand for their cost and style combo and the second is a pink one-shoulder carried by ASOS from French brand Mouille.

Classic bikinis

The first, by swim expert Hurley, is an ultra classic staple bikini in black. The second is a wonderful twist on the overdone halter top and gives this bright suit by Lisa Vogel a retro twist. Love it! One of our favorites on the list actually.

This next bikini might be a better option for laying out than water sports due to the beautiful stitching and embellishments. But we all need a “pool” bikini and a “lake” bikini anyway, right? Another Lisa Vogel option carried by SwimSpot it has removable pads, which we’re guessing the model in the photo has yet to remove…

Cover ups

Cover ups should always show a little of your suit but offer just enough sun protection in case you’re getting a little toasty. Here are two options we love. The first crocheted coverup is available here from Macy’s and the second has 3/4 rolled sleeves (love that) from Piperlime.

The best holiday party clothes from White House Black Market

We love White House Black Market, or WHBM for short. Some of our favorite skirts and jeans have actually come from there. They are experts at creating flattering skirt cuts, beautiful holiday dresses and they have a wide selection of LBDs. Plus, they easily fit into our under $300 price point so what’s not to love?

Here are some of our favorite clothes when we went online shopping at WHBM. What WHBM clothes to you love? What item do you always try on when you go in the store? Leave it in the comments!

Skirts

Two pencil skirts to get started. First the layered stripe sequin skirt for $128  and then the windowpane pencil skirt for $88.

Tweed trumpet skirt (left) is a wonderful cut that’s so different from your average pencil skirt and it’s only $98 and for a very low $49, here’s one of the all-time most universally flattering skirt cuts. The Ponte Button skirt is something you can wear to a party and wear to work.

And on to dresses!

Bustier rosette dress has removable straps and is $168 but if you’re not a fan of dresses that are strapless or fitted, check out the Jacquared Tank Dress for $58.

Tops, shirts and our favorite bustier

The embellished tunic is a comfortable and versatile holiday party choice and is a deal at only $39!

And here’s our favorite bustier of all time! Love this shirt. Each season WHBM comes out with a new color or two but the red rosette bustier for $88 is perfect with a jacket for the holidays.

Shoes and accessories

Love these fun feathered earrings and these work-to-night suede pumps that are extremely comfortable.

Happy September…Fall Wedding Season Begins!

The leaves change, the weather cools, the evening requires a jacket and you still have three weddings on the books. The floral summer dresses won’t quite cut it and let’s face it, some of them can’t be converted with leggings and a jacket.

We’ve looked for dresses that can be worn to winter black tie weddings, outdoor fall weddings and more casual engagement parties.

Black Tie Indoor

Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus are go-to dress shops and here’s one of our favorite dresses. Slightly tucked around the waist so you don’t worry about a too-baggy sheath in the evening, it’s awesome. Find it here on their site. However, we implore you not to wear the shoes and tights in the photo with that dress. We’ll post a style tip on shoes later this week.

Tracy Reese Lace Dress

White House Black Market is a little less $$ than some Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus options and has a great set of silhouettes this season that are extremely flattering. You just can’t go wrong with a V-neck, fitted waist and flared, A-line skirt. We love, love the silver too on the WHBM Jacquared dress. It’s also half the price of the Tracy Reese dress above.

Outdoor Fall Wedding

The sweater dress with fitted leather riding boots, vintage jewelry and a gold-buttoned jacket (if needed) is the perfect choice for an outdoor fall wedding. Skip the heels, sport the boots and be comfortable all night. Anthro offers a beautiful vintage lace sweater dress for less than $200. Comes in black but we love the cream. Wedding Events: Showers, engagement parties, brunches and more

Oh the events. There’s always something and you always need something to wear. This could be an entire post in itself! Here are a few favorites for all the extra events surrounding the big day. Since you will be dressing more casually, get something that is your absolute best color and let the compliments begin!

Ann Taylor silver top, pair with fitted black pants and high, high heels

Here’s a link to this next Ann Taylor dress. We tried a few similar dresses from Ann Taylor Loft but this one is by far our favorite for style and versatility. What do you love to wear to weddings? Tweet us @estylechat or leave it in the comments!
