Bananas for the Banana Sale

Through today only, Banana Republic is offering 30% off full-priced styles. We just can’t let that go to waste so we circled the wagons, went online shopping and found some wardrobe staples that Banana has really done right. Use this sale as an opportunity to stock up on the things you wear all the time from a really quality brand!

Here are just a few of our favorites that you can now buy for 30% off.

A super classic pencil skirt in black wool and a versatile shimmer cardigan.

An amazing classic wrap dress and an equally classic black trench

Super modern khaki slacks and a beautiful cable knit sweater.

And finally, it goes with the dress, the skirt, the pants or the sweater, a beautiful Heritage Collection scarf!

Pretty Polka Dots

If you loved last week’s post on stripes…just wait! Is there anything more fun, feminine and a little retro-cool than polka dots? What a great pattern. And they’re so flattering (like stripes!) in the right color.

We went shopping online, as usual, and come up with a great selection of polka dots for you today. Which one do you love? Is there one you’d never wear? Leave it in the comments!

Let’s start at the top and work our way down!

This is a super luxe scarf. It’s $175, so a little pricey but so luxurious. Find it here from Mr. Porter.

We found two black polka dot dresses! On the left, from Banana Republic for $130 and on the right from Ralph Lauren for $134. We love the over-sized dots on the Banana Dress and also love the easy-going retro feel of the Ralph Lauren dress.

Okay now this is fun. Check out this Sonia Rykiel dress for $198 on The Outnet. Isn’t that so cute? What a wonderful spring party dress or dress to wear to an outdoor summer wedding. While the bow in the front is a no-go for larger chests, if you’re a petite build up top, this dress is definitely for you. Larger busts should check out the Banana dress on the left above to wear with a minimizing bra for a super flattering shape.

SHOES! Polka Dot shoes, love them! Here are our two favorite pairs we found online.

On the left, from Beverly Feldman for $149 and on the right…wait for it…a splurge from Monolo. Okay, okay we’re sorry that we went way over our $300 limit but it’s worth it every once in a while, right? The Monolos are $462 of amazingness.

Day 5 of 7: Why we love Banana Republic

Banana has been a long time staple of my wardrobe (Emily) and many of my friends swear it’s the only brand they can “buy off the rack and it fits perfectly.” So, on day 5 of our series, here are some reasons we love Banana Republic.

1. Why we like their site: You can online shop for your man, of course! Banana has an awesome men’s collection and there’s always something interesting on their home page. New features, new style etc. Plus, it’s just a classy looking site.

2. Why we like their clothes: In this category, Ann Taylor and Banana Republic have some things in common. There is some great quality to Banana clothes and there is more variety than you might think. Also a great selection of petites but as someone who is 5’4, it is darn hard to find pants from Banana to wear with flats that I don’t have to hem. The petites seem to be just a little too short.

3. Special deals and sales: Up to 30% off of nearly everything right now…including shoes and handbags. OH and an important update,$25 off of purchases $100 or more. Click here to go to their site and learn more about that awesome deal.

4. (The most fun) Two featured items: Banana is great for suiting separates and matched pieces so we felt it was only fair to feature a classic black skirt! Click here to find this sleek suit in a very light wool (shown below in sleek pencil)!Classic leather bag in a new and trendy color! If you haven’t checked out Banana’s shoes and purses, you’re missing out. They also have a few clutches we are lusting over. Click here for the full collection of Banana work bags similar to this beautiful, Italian grey leather bag.
