The Best Of…Two-tone riding boots
As we mentioned on our Twitter feed this week, the absolute most clicked-upon item in the last two months has been this pair of Ciao Bella two-tone riding boots.
In fact, one of the Google searches that commonly leads new readers to eStyle Chat is “two-tone riding boots”.
We’re happy to oblige the readers who have asked for a rundown of all the brown and black boots on the market. With such a versatile winter item, it was fun to go looking for two-tone boots in every price range. Plus, we found a variety of heights and widths so no matter what size and style you’re looking for, we found something for you.
As always, if you love the item and end up buying it, let us know! Your thoughts will help other eStyle readers who might be looking for the very same thing.
Here are the best black and brown boots that can be found online:
Vince Camuto “Duke” boot for $214. These look ridiculously classy with the Camuto brand at the top and the slightly higher-than-usual heel.
Another boot with a branded top is the second most expensive on our list: Frye’s Melissa boot for $388 from Shopbop.com.With a 15 1/2 inch circumference on the calf, it’s slightly larger than the average 14 1/2-15 inch boot top. Definitely one of the highest quality boots we found.
While we’re talking about boots with a larger calf area, we found the same Etienne Aigner boot in both wide leg and regular. The regular is on the left ($179) and wide leg is on the right ($189), both are available from Piperlime if you click on the image.
For something totally different, check out this awesome Victorian-style Jeffrey Campbell boots for $304 from ModCloth.
For $150, these boots from IMAN will get the job done. We don’t think they are made for long-term last or wear, but for two winter seasons, they’ll work perfectly well.
Okay, these we love. Love, love. Hunter makes extremely durable all-weather and rain boots and these two-tone rain boots are adorable and will keep your toes dry all season. $195 (and they’ll last forever) from Shopbop.com.
The Sam Edelman booty in leather and suede is probably going to be on our Pinterest Lust List in the very near future. Saks Fifth carries them here for $140.
Finally, the most expensive two-tone beauties we found in our search were these Stuart Weitzman knee-high boots. Love the trendy boot pull in the back. They’re also from Saks and are $437.

Topped riding boots are for fox hunters who have earned their colors. They are in the same category as Greek letters, military uniforms, and Medals of Honor. If you haven’t earned them, you don’t wear them. I’m hoping this comes across as informative, not rude, as is my intention.
We all have our fashion pet peeves. Thanks for sharing!
